Accelerated Psychology Honors Program
Take your education to the next level and earn two degrees in less time
Students who are passionate about psychology and have a strong academic record are ideal candidates for our new Accelerated Psychology Honors Program, which allows students to earn a BS in Psychology and a master鈥檚 degree in the 91探花 program of their choosing at an accelerated pace.
The undergraduate experience
Through this program, you鈥檒l complete your BS in Psychology in just three years, and while doing so you鈥檒l receive the added benefits of:
- Taking honors sections of the core courses within your major.
- Participating in special College and community service activities.
- Being mentored by a dedicated honors psychology faculty advisor throughout the program.
- Having your College transcript say Psychology Honors and getting special honors cords as part of your commencement regalia.
Bonus! Our psychology program is unique in that students can choose to concentrate in the area of psychology that interests them most: school psychology, clinical/counseling psychology, health psychology, human development, industrial and organizational psychology, behavioral neuroscience, communication sciences and disorders, social/personality psychology, and the William J. Hagan Honors Concentration.
The graduate experience
At the start of your third year, you will apply to one of eight graduate programs at The College of Saint Rose.
If accepted, you鈥檒l progress through those programs at an accelerated pace, saving at least a full year of time and tuition costs. That means you鈥檒l earn your bachelor鈥檚 degree in three years and then earn one of the following:
- Business Administration (MBA)
1 additional year
- Computer Science (MS)
1 additional year
- Educational Psychology (MSED)
1 additional year
- Communication Sciences & Disorders (MSED)
18 additional months
- Clinical Mental Health Counseling (MSED)
2 additional years
- School Counseling (MSED)
2 additional years
- Social Work (MSW)
2 additional years
- School Psychology (MSED)
3 additional years
Program Requirements
To qualify for admission, students must have:
- An overall high school GPA of 92% or higher
- A high school GPA in science and math courses of 90% or higher
To maintain status in the program once enrolled, students must maintain:
- A GPA of 3.2 overall
- A GPA within their major of 3.4
